Altitude Water Alternative: ZENIUS Atmospheric Water Generators Compared
Short answer: Altitude Water builds its Trident atmospheric water generators in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, publishes US-dollar prices and serves the US market with domestic warranty and service. ZENIUS builds a wider capacity ladder — 12 L to 10,000 L per day — from Hangzhou, China, and quotes factory-direct with OEM/ODM. If American-made with US support is the priority, Altitude is a fair choice. If you need more than roughly 250 L/day, your own brand on the unit, or a price that has to work outside the United States, the ZENIUS range is usually the better fit.
Figures below were checked in September 2026 against Altitude Water’s own product pages and its US distributor listings. Published output for the same model differs between sources, so we show the range and say where each number comes from. Prices are list prices before tax, shipping, duties and installation.
Altitude Water at a glance
| Model | Listed output | Storage | Filtration | List price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trident 12 (T-12) | Up to 15 US gal/day (about 57 L) | 7 gal (26.5 L) | Carbon block + calcite + EnviroGuard ozone | About $3,999.99 |
| Trident 100 (T-100) | Up to 185 US gal/day (about 700 L) on the product page; older company material and some listings describe it as a 100 gal (378 L) class machine | 50 gal (189 L) | Carbon block + calcite + EnviroGuard ozone | About $28,995 |
| Trident 200 (T-200) | Up to 360 US gal/day (about 1,360 L) in distributor listings; 200 gal (757 L) in older company material | 30 gal (113 L) | Carbon block + calcite + EnviroGuard ozone | About $55,000–$59,995 |
Two things apply to every row. First, all three figures are maximum output under optimal conditions: Altitude Water states its machines thrive at 40% relative humidity or above, and that production and storage at lower humidity are not guaranteed to reach optimal performance. Second, the T-100 and T-200 are frequently listed as “call for pricing” on the manufacturer’s own store, which is why the prices above come from distributor listings rather than a published price page.
How the ZENIUS range lines up
| Altitude model | Closest ZENIUS capacity class | ZENIUS model |
|---|---|---|
| T-12 — about 57 L/day | 40–70 L/day household | A70 (70 L/day) or A40 (40 L/day) |
| T-100 — about 378–700 L/day | 500–1,000 L/day commercial | A500 (500 L/day) or A1000 (1,000 L/day) |
| T-200 — about 757–1,360 L/day | 1,000–2,000 L/day commercial | A1000 or A2000 (2,000 L/day) |
Above 2,000 L/day the comparison stops: ZENIUS continues to the ZEN-L 6000, the A5000 and the A10000, while Altitude’s published range tops out at the T-200 plus a mobile disaster-relief trailer.
Where Altitude Water wins
- American manufacturing. Units are built in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, under US Patent 7,272,947 — a genuine advantage if your procurement rules require domestic manufacture or your buyer simply prefers it.
- Ozone-based storage disinfection. The EnviroGuard system treats the stored water, not just the water passing a lamp at one moment, which is the argument Altitude makes against UV and RO designs.
- Alkaline remineralisation. A carbon block plus a calcite stage raises pH; the company cites roughly 8.2 pH.
- Published US pricing and financing on the smaller models, with a one-year full warranty and an extended warranty available.
- Deployment track record — the company reports 40+ disaster deployments and offers a mobile relief trailer.
- Building extras — MERV-13 air filtration, Wi-Fi connectivity, touch-screen operation and chilled dispensing on the T-12.
Where ZENIUS wins
- Capacity range. Twelve models from 12 L/day to 10,000 L/day. Above roughly 250 L/day, Altitude has two published models; ZENIUS has eight.
- Price at capacity. Factory-direct from Hangzhou with no US distributor margin. On a cost-per-litre basis the gap widens as capacity grows — see the cost-per-litre analysis.
- OEM and ODM. Your own brand, colour, packaging and manuals from MOQ 5 units, with 25–35 day production. See the China AWG manufacturer guide for what to vet before ordering.
- Voltage and certification for non-US markets. 220–240 V 50 Hz builds as standard, with ISO 9001, CE, FCC and QB/T 5629-2021 documentation.
- Warranty length. Two years parts and labour as standard, with extension priced at 6% or 12% of unit price, against one year standard on the Altitude units.
- pH control. ZENIUS designs to a 7.5–8.5 band rather than relying on a single calcite stage.
Which one should you buy?
Choose Altitude Water if you are buying in the United States, domestic manufacture matters to your procurement, you need up to about 57 L/day for a home, clinic or marina, or you want a turnkey disaster-response trailer — and you are comfortable paying a published US price for it.
Choose ZENIUS if you need more than about 250 L/day, you are buying outside the United States, you want your own brand on the machine, or the decision will be made on cost per litre at scale rather than on sticker price.
Either way, hold both vendors to the same two questions: what is the output at your relative humidity, in writing, with a performance curve — and what do filters cost over the life of the machine?
Frequently asked questions
Is Altitude Water made in the USA?
Yes. Altitude Water states that its atmospheric water generators are manufactured in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, and that its designs are covered by US Patent 7,272,947.
How much water does the Altitude T-12 make per day?
The manufacturer lists up to 15 US gallons (about 57 litres) per 24-hour day under optimal conditions, with 7 gallons (26.5 litres) of onboard storage. Older company material describes the T-12 as a 12-gallon class machine. Altitude states that its machines thrive at 40% relative humidity or above and that output is not guaranteed at lower humidity.
Does Altitude Water publish its prices?
Partly. The T-12 is listed at about $3,999.99 on the company’s own store. The T-100 and T-200 are commonly shown as “call for pricing” there; distributor listings quote about $28,995 for the T-100 and roughly $55,000 to $59,995 for the T-200 depending on finish. All exclude tax, shipping, duties and installation.
Is ozone treatment better than UV or reverse osmosis?
They do different jobs. Ozone and UV are both disinfection, but ozone is injected into the stored water and so continues to protect the tank, while UV only treats water as it passes the lamp. Reverse osmosis is not disinfection at all — it is a separation process that strips dissolved solids, which also removes minerals and is why many makers add a remineralisation stage afterwards. Which combination you need depends on the quality of the condensate and how long water sits in the tank.
What is a good Altitude Water alternative outside the United States?
ZENIUS, if you need capacity or regional support. The range runs from A20 (20 L/day) for a household through the A500 and A2000 for commercial sites, ships in 220–240 V 50 Hz builds, and supports OEM branding from MOQ 5 units. Request a quote for landed cost in your market.
